also as i am playing sam reid's lestat from the AMC series, i'm not particularly interested in playing with main cast mates from the book series/movie (characters not yet shown in the tv show not included in this e.g marius, akasha, gabrielle). the tv series adds an entire dimension to the characters of claudia, louis and armand in particular and to be honest brad pitt's wig in the movie scares me. i am however familiar with book canon and contextualise my lestat with this in addition to sam reid's performance notes.

IN CHARACTER

PHYSICAL AFFECTION: yes! lestat is open to all types of physical affection. by nature of being a vampire, feeding can be quite intimate and lestat takes full advantage of his attractiveness and sensual charm to achieve regular meals. he unfortunately also has a habit of playing with his food - so results may vary. very liberal with sex and sexuality, with little to no shame. 

PHYSICAL VIOLENCE: he is mostly immortal and very hard to kill. bullets will not slow him, wounds will not completely down him. pain tolerance is very high. he does not need breath to survive, though the body's reflex is still there. if he gets close enough to death, he will descend into a comatose like state with pure animalistic instincts, likely seeking any warm body he can drain to recover. it is unlikely that death will ever truly touch him unless harmed and bled profusely into a comatose state, then left to starve or his body is set ablaze. he may also burn in direct sunlight.

he will react to violence with violence, and will likely lose his temper quickly. unless you provide worth to him, he is very likely to announce you for that night's dinner. instigate with caution. 

RELATIONSHIPS: canon mates especially welcome! open to shipping of any kind! please note that general smut will be a lot more accessible than most kinds of sincere romance. romantic shipping will be a slow burn unless with other canon mates.

i generally play him as from iwtv amc canon with hints of the anne rice books, so without an au of some kind his heart will solidly aching for louis de pointe du lac. this may be a large line of contention with any other potential ships. 
that being said i do love shipping lestat with louis, armand and daniel or any configuration of these. i will also happily write with any gabrielles or nickis!

PSYCHIC & PSIONIC INFORMATION: he is a vampire with a degree of mind reading abilities himself - as such his mind will be sensitive to probes and will provide surface level thoughts. i will by default not have him directly mind read characters he's playing with but feel free to have your character broadcast particular thoughts you'd like him to pick up. happy to provide more information on request! 

 

MAGICAL INFORMATION: lestat has superhuman strength, speed and senses. he's able to levitate, skim surface level thoughts off others and has some mind control abilities - enough to persuade, freeze time for a small room of humans, force action upon them. he's also able to manipulate flames in small amounts - lighting or extinguishing fires. exhaustive use of his abilities will leave him weak and dazed and leaking blood.

MEDICAL INFORMATION: at his default lestat is in very good physical condition. he feeds regularly which keeps his body looking fresh and spry - if he were to go for long periods without blood, the more corpse-like his body would become. though his body temperature is generally cooler than most humans, a regular feed will have warmer blood circulating enough to generate a bit of heat.

lestat taken from s3 onwards (or rockstar lestat, as he's referred to) will be well fed but erratic due to regularly taking a lot of party drugs and alcohol in order to cope with recalling trauma. 

 

OFFENSIVE SUBJECTS & TRIGGERS: lestat casually murders to survive, so anticipate casual violence, themes of death and immortality. this guy is immortal yet hasn't got around to going to therapy, and has a truckton of trauma he refuses to look at. his own multiple sexual assaults have been brushed aside without deep examination or proper recovery from them. grooming from older mentors is also easily normalised due to his own experiences and reluctance to admit to himself any wounds. stay away from subjects of this nature as the conversation may become deeply upsetting and/or result in lestat becoming massively triggered. mentions of child death or claudia's passing will also deeply upset and conflict him and he may just dig a hole to lay in for the rest of the thread. he also has an incestuous relationship with his mother, with elements of emotional enmeshment. take that as you will.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS

VISUAL: lestat is a 6'2" pale white man of approximately 32 years of age, relatively fit with growing amounts of muscle, if not slightly malnourished upon examination. he has soft waves of blonde hair, generally cut to just above his shoulders - however may be slightly longer or shorter depending on the day. his eyes are grey, and have been described as absorbing blue or violet light around them easily. he describes his mouth as slightly too big for his own face, with emotions that are shown entirely too much in his expression - he is constantly animated. his nails are long and sharp, and are glazed like other anne rice vampires, appearing to look like they are made of glass.

AURAL: lestat is natively french, and so speaks with a french accent. he has a habit of leaning heavily on an american accent for dramatic flair, usually to appear deliberately naive or mocking. otherwise his voice is deep and smooth; he is eloquent with a musical quality to his speech. 

OLFACTORY: very attentive to fashion, lestat attempts to keep up with modern looks, fashion and styles. he probably smells good let's be real. base notes of musk, petrichor, incense and tobacco. those with keener senses may be able to detect the faint smell of blood. 

DEMEANOUR: watching lestat is like observing a big cat - he moves with grace, deliberate and coordinated, often in performance for anyone potentially watching. he is very animated in speech, often making large gestures with his hands and entire body. he is very expressive, often unable to prevent his true feelings from showing on his face, sometimes to his own detriment. likewise, he is very reactive and often prone to fits of anger and laughter alike, with little regard to the setting.
